This week, I have the honor of participating in a great event that benefits a very worthy cause.  The Benefit Concert for Darfur happens Friday night at 7 at the Tabernacle.

The benefit concert was originally created in 2007 by a group of students from The Galloway School, led by teacher Lexi Hunter. After doing smaller events for two years, the students felt it was time to take the next step and get serious about raising money for the unconscionable genocide taking place in Darfur. To that point, student leaders decided to expand the 2009 benefit to include other North Atlanta based public and private high schools. The Save Darfur Student Committee is expecting a sellout crowd of 2,500 people at the newly renovated Tabernacle. 

Multi-platinum album recording artists Collective Soul will headline the event. The benefit will also feature music from three up and coming local acts, including Ben Deignan & Suburban Soul and The Less.  I will be emcee for the evening.

The event will raise funds and strengthen awareness for the Save Darfur Coalition, a global organization that represents 130 million people worldwide of all ages, races, religions and political affiliations who have united together to help the victims of Darfur. I also have three pairs of tickets to give away between now and the event Friday night.  There are 3 ways to win … you can enter just once for each method, but you can enter all three ways! 

Send an email to DARFUR@JeffDauler.com.  Friday at noon I will draw one email, and that person will get a free pair of tickets to the show! Simple! (One entry per person, multiple emails from the same address will result in them all being disqualified.)

Friend me on Facebook, and check my status on Tuesday night. Instructions there will tell you how you can win. If we are already friends … just check the status on Tuesday evening, about 8pm.

Follow me on twitter.  On Wednesday, sometime between 7pm and 9pm, I will send out a tweet with instructions on how you can score a pair of tickets.  But if you don’t follow me, you won’t know about the contest!  If you already follow me, just wait for something on Wednesday evening.
