February 16, 2009

Huge fan!! :)
I know that you are not technically affiliated with the Braves organization any longer but, I figured you may know or know someone that I could contact to get the information that I need. I want to be on the tomahawk team this spring and summer and was curious about when tryouts were for the 2009 season?  If you could give me someone to contact or know the information yourself a reply would be greatly appreciated.

For more information click here.   Good luck!  It’s a fun gig …

I remember last week you guys talked about travel discount websites.  Is there a list of the sites online?  I couldn’t find it.  Please email it to me.  I would like to go to Houston this weekend with my 8 yr old daughter.

I’ve recently discovered Kayak.com, and they rock.  I use Orbitz also, but then book direct through the airlines site.

I thought of you when I saw this.  I remember you saying that you wished you could give some of your acquaintances advice anonymously.  Here’s a way to do so.

This is awesome.  I love it.  And I will use it.  Sadly, people will probably use it for me, too.

You are my favorite of all time, yeah you not the other loosers on the show.(JK) I read somewhere that you know of a website that allows you to download audio files or ringtones to send to cell phones w/o having to buy software. Please send me the link!

Most phones will accept MP3’s now.  I don’t know of any specific websites.  Sorry.

Hey, I listen to your show regularly and was in need of some advice. My neighbors across the street from us have two Dachshunds (weenie dogs). My husband & I have witnessed him scold one of them he cupped his hand and hit her on the belly which is a bit much for a dog that size. She yelped loudly.

What I saw yesterday, I cannot get out of my head. It was horrible. The male dog wondered out into the street where myself and another girl in the neighborhood were walking our dogs. Once the owner saw the dog he drove his car up to the neighbors house (where the dog was walking) and got out of his car . The dog immediately looked fearful and the owner started chasing the dog back to his house. The owner kicked the dog as they were running full speed and the dog rolled and kept running. The owner then, still running full speed towards the house, kicked the dog into the side of the house (he was airborne)and continued kicking him all the way around the front of the house into the garage. I took my dog into our home and could still hear the dachshund yelping.

Seriously if I had videoed this he would be in jail. I feel that I should say something. One catch, he and his wife are former renters of our house. They seem so nice and I have been dealing with them for 2 years and never saw this coming. He could have killed the dog – I’m not sure.  Any advice?

Um, yea.  Call the cops.  Then animal control.  Then a local small-dog rescue.  (Google it.)  Do it all anonymously.  And do it today.  Animal abusers are sick.

Is suicide a legitimate excuse for breaking up with someone?   My now ex-boyfriend recently broke up with me claiming that he was having suicidal thoughts as well as a bunch of other mental problems, and because of those, he said he wanted to end our relationship so he could try to fix them. So my question is: could this be true or is this the most extreme cop-out for a breakup in breakup history? Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Either way, aren’t you glad to be free from that?

I was curious to know where you went on vacation.  I know that you and Jessica travel to the Caribbean a lot and am looking to plan something for me and my wife and wanted to know if you had any recommendations.

Turks & Caicos.  We stayed at the Royal West Indies, which was nice.  But if you can afford it, the Grace Bay Club looked freakin’ awesome.

I voted for you but I didn’t do that until I saw your Facebook status. Had you not had that status, I wouldn’t have voted at all. But I did like your playlist much better than Bert’s!!! Great marketing; Bert may just be a spoiled sport! J

Marketing is ALWAYS smart, and the people who don’t beleive in it are the ones who don’t do it.  Dummies.

I have been listening to you all since your first days in Atlanta and I feel like we’ve grown to be really close! I think ya’ll are very good at your jobs and the show is definitely very entertaining. There is definitely a semi-cult like following within the 285 and the rest of Georgia, but nothing really exists outside of the perimeter right? Just kidding. Anyways, enough of the stalker-talk, I just wanted to say I appreciate you making my 6 a.m. soccer practices a little bit more entertaining and bearable over the years during my season (I’m a Junior at Oglethorpe University and play on the varsity soccer team).  Here are a few ideas that have popped into my head over the years.
Short term:
1.       Have a segment where people who are going to Bitter Ball, and are definitely not single, call in and tell us why.
2.       People love your show, that is a given. I think that listeners would love the chance to spend some time with ya’ll in the studio. Maybe once a week, perhaps Thursdays since Friday’s are usually a little crazy, have like a celebrity DJ during the show. It can be a listener that you can select through an e-mail of 30 words or less or some superfluous selection of some sort. I just think being present during the show be would be a chance of a lifetime for some people.
P.S. If you guys do this anytime in the future, could I be the first participant?
Long term:
1.       Halloween is on a Saturday this year. I have been meaning to tell this one to you guys for a while, but I’m glad that I didn’t yet. Now that you have the ghost hunters on the show and have made some people believers, this will be the perfect segment leading up to the big day. I challenge you guys to spend one whole night in an actively haunted location/house and get the ghost hunters to record everything for us to hear over the days leading up to Halloween. That would be awesome! You could even tie it into a fundraiser somehow and say for every thousand bucks you guys get, you’ll spend 1 hour in the house … something to that extent.
Like I said, ya’ll are awesome and keep up the great work! We have had our disagreements, albeit in my head, but overall I love listening to you guys! Jeff, stay strong my friend!

All great suggestions.  Thanks for listening and sharing them.  Maybe we willl combine the two and you can come to the haunted house with us.

I spend a lot of my time making different playlists for different moods. I’m kinda young, but i’m pretty sure my lists have all of you beat.  Well. probably not. heh. but there are a few songs that I think you ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE in your playlists

1. Raining on Sunday/Keith Urban – It sets the mood, I promise you.
2. Wicked Games/Chris Isaac- Bert was ON POINT
3. Crash into me/ Dave Matthews Band- Again, kudos to Bert
4.  Your Man/Josh Turner- Nobody can resist the smooth, deep, sexiness of his voice, dude.
5. Hands Down/Dashboard Confessional- Incredible to make out to, just check the lyrics.
6. I Don’t Wanna Be/Gavin DeGraw- You wouldn’t think of this song, lyric wise, but the music/beat is so very sexy
7. Please Excuse My Hands/Plies- I mean. dang. ha.
8. Turning Me On/Lil Wayne & Keri Hilson-no explanation needed.
9. Sunday Morning/Maroon 5- again, a good make out song
10. Take You Down/Chris Brown- it’s amazing. yeah.

Bonus Tracks:
1. Like you’ll never see me again/Alicia Keys- her voice is so amazing, and the music is completely mood setting, and the words
2 best version of “umbrella” is by Scott Simmons. (cuz ya’ll said you didn’t know whose you liked better, but that’s my favorite)
3.Pour Some Sugar on Me/Def Leppard- ahhaha. it’s a classic!
4. What’s your fantasy-Ludacris- I think wendy had him on hers, i don’t remember, but it’s certainly a fabulous choice
5. Sexual Healing/Marvin Gaye- yet another classic

haha I’m just saying they’re tried out, and they’re winners.

Awesome playlist. Thanks for sharing. Not really sure about the Def Leppard pick, and maybe Chris Brown is poorly timed. But otherwise, solid effort.

valentine’s day is all for marketing….it is aimed at women, because women are all touching and feeling and the marketers know that the females will get the males to go and get and do something for her.

Such is life.

I have always thought you were a “butt” but your playlist of music says you aren’t really.  I do like Wendy’s songs but your list is more along my line.

Glad I could turn you on, Anonymous.

I love that the dauschund nailed two peeps.  Thanks for the info.

Ok so have you guys called out Bert on his sucking air through his teeth noise?  I hear it ALL THE TIME now!!!

I DON’T HEAR IT!  And I think that is bothering me more than if I DID!

Just so you know your irreverent, goofball personality makes you extremely sexy. If you weren’t married I’d be after you lol. This morning when the married lady called for Bitter Ball tickets for the Hubby for a special night. Well, you replied to pick up another woman for a threesome; I laughed so much I almost tinkled in my pants lol.  Thanx for making my morning more entertaining.  And if you ever get divorced, look me up.  My facebook Amanda Kupris Dolin, or Myspace Bratmandy. Or you could just add me as a friend so I can fantasize lol.

It’s taken 8 years, but I’ve finally found a groupie.  Awesome.  The fantasy is so much better than the actual me.  Thanks, though.

You are to funny Jeff. Bitter Ball couldn’t have came at a better time. You know I called the radio station probally 3 months ago. I was talking about how it didn’t matter about how much money is spent if you cared about that person. I got the story mixed up a little with Jen and boyfriend. Anyway I was wrong. Well wasn’t I a dumbass. I got her a face lift on top of all that. She said she would feel more comfortable around me. Not only did she say I lied which I didn’t. The whole time she said she was 42 she is actually 52. Well that a big lie and $25,000.00 in the hole. She is a good looking woman that didn’t need a face lift but at 52 why lie? I liked her before I even knew it. The bad part is she is your number 1 groupie. I realize people don’t have hearts and Bitter Ball came at the right timel. See ya’ll there.
