A BIT MUCH, PERHAPS

January 6, 2010

Listen … I’m the first person to say that I should be worshiped … but it’s getting a bit much, don’t ya think?  Almost a little Ferris Bueller-esqe?

A new day, a new update from Rodney Ho at the AJC.  Read all about it here.

“Oh, he’s very popular, Ed.  The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wasteoids, dweebies, dickheads — they all adore him.

They think he’s a righteous dude.”

I promise: definite answers tomorrow.  I’m sorry this is dragging on soooo looooooong.

And, I have a dandy tale to tell.  Just need to figure out the best way to do it.  I think I have an idea.

Talk to you soon …

The one thing that I admire about you Jeff is that PC language isn’t part of your vocabulary. You basically say what a lot of us are thinking and are just afraid to say it sometimes. I hope all works out and will be grateful to hear your quick wit and randomness.

Kudos for your attitude through all of this.

Here is what makes the Bert Show so unique. If anyone of the cast is off due to illness, vacation, or business… it throws off the vibe of the show for that 4-5 hour period we are listening. To say that any ONE person (no matter who) is replaceable is absurd. Each has their own personality they bring to the show. Some say Jeff is rude or crass. But, if you follow him on Twitter or FB or even on this blog, you will see a very diverse personality. What you hear on radio may OR may not be the real Jeff. Dig deeper people. Jeff does have a kind side to him. If you can’t see it then take off the blinders. You may not like what Jeff has to say some times but, let’s all be real…he is only saying what we are all thinking. He just says it louder and differently than the rest of us. So, in closing I say… Keep the Bert Show as it is. With the entire cast. Bert, Jeff, Melissa, Jenn, Wendy, Producer Tracey, and the revolving cast of interns. They are the best radio in Atlanta.

I agree with Anna. It’s not that we worship you, we need each of your individual personalities. Each one of you bring something unique to the mic. Thanks for keeping us updated, my commute would suck without my Bert Show circa 2009!

I really enjoy your slanted boldness when it comes to producing Bert show. I think you help provide a balance to an otherwise femanine show. But you gotta look out for yourself.

There are a few options in radio to go from here. Stop doing Radio, and invest your time where you can make more money with it (and sleep in past 6 in the morning). Pickup and do the “Daily Dauler”, your own thing in Detroit during drive-time. Or do the Bert show for one more swing, enjoy the fruits of being on a top rated show, and bow to the audience the next contract season.

Starting over again sucks, but you helped make the Bert show format a success, and new markets are always willing to pay money for a format that may save their radio station.

Hey man, I am a big fan of the show. Much like most of your responses lately, I really liked you on the Bert Show especially because you had the balls to say the things other people wouldn’t or question the popular position. I would like to see you back on the show soon, but you have take care of you and your family first. What ever happens you are talented and will be successful. One question, are you still listening to the show? Just curious. Good Luck.

    Jeff,
I am really missing you..The show has not been the same this week! I wanted to say a word about Wendy! I have read some of the horrific things that people are saying about such a delightful person. Why do people have to be so ugly..Go by the golden rule – if you don’t have something nice to say, say nothing at all!! The women that are being so nasty to Wendy are really jealous! Wendy keep your head up & we love you also. I know your physic said that you were going to have changes in your career future, but I truly hope it does not include leaving us in the mornings :) I have to have my morning Jeff!!

Jeff, I love the whole Bert Show and have been a faithful listener since 2003. And you are the best! Your sarcasm, dry humor, quick wit and ability to be controversial and push the envelope are so refreshing. I don’t know anything about your contract, but I respect that you need to stand up for yourself and do what’s right for you and your family. You will be successful no matter what you do. Just know that if you leave The Bert Show, you will be sorely missed, and you are irreplaceable. By the way, it’s awesome how you stood up for Wendy. Truly classy! Good luck to you, whatever that will entail.

    Maddox,

Why are you hating? Have you nothing better to do? Hmmm… makes me wonder if you aren’t the hack.

We love you Jeff…if they don’t give you what you are asking for, become their competition. When one door is closed another is opened. Love you an @jessicashops.
